Virtual Teletherapy Sessions Update: Staying Safe & Connected
To My Dedicated Members:
I want to thank each one of you for your courage and honesty that you have shown in your therapeutic journey thus far—YOU are the reason why I stay motivated in this sacred call. These are trying and unprecedented times for ALL of us—there are no exemptions. Our collective connectedness couldn’t be more apparent as we encounter directly how events in one part of the world impact us all. As we stay mindful of what’s ahead in the coming weeks and months, our safety becomes even more essential. That’s why we are adapting by shifting to virtual teletherapy sessions—to support your mental health while staying aligned with public health guidelines.
Transitioning to Virtual Teletherapy Sessions: Office Closure Details
Effective Saturday, 3/21/2020, Matters of the Mind, LLC office will be closed until further notice. This step is being taken in compliance with CDC and Maryland Department of Health guidelines to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
All Counseling Sessions Now Offered via Virtual Therapy Platforms
Beginning March 23rd through March 31st, all scheduled therapy sessions will be conducted via virtual teletherapy platforms, specifically using Zoom. Members will receive a Gmail invite that includes Zoom access details. We are committed to maintaining connection and care even while physically apart.
Brief Pause in Virtual Teletherapy Services: What to Expect
Important: From April 1st to April 4th, all teletherapy sessions will be paused. After this brief break, sessions will resume using the teletherapy model until further notice. We appreciate your patience during this brief transition.
Virtual Teletherapy Session Policy: Cancellations & Attendance
Even though all cancellation fees have been waived during this period, we kindly ask that you follow the original cancellation policy and notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to attend your virtual therapy appointment. This allows us to support other clients who may need that time slot.
Zoom Guidelines for Effective Telehealth
1. If you don’t have Zoom, download it at www.zoom.us/download or via your device’s app store.
2. Please use a PC or tablet for the best connection. If technical issues arise, we’ll continue the session by phone.
3. Ensure a private space for your session. We recommend a quiet room with minimal distractions to help maintain confidentiality and focus during your online therapy session.
We’re Here to Support You
Thank you again for your commitment, understanding, and flexibility. These are not easy times—but we will make it through, together. As always, if you have any questions or concerns about virtual counseling sessions or anything else, don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to help.
Peace and Blessings,
Angela Harper,
