MOTM Vaultage® Turns 11: Resilience, Vision, and the Truth That Growth Isn’t Linear

The architects and pillars of MOTM Vaultage gather for a group photo proving that growth isn't linear

Dear MOTM Vaultage®,

Thank you for your patience with me. When you first appeared in my life in February 2013, I didn’t fully understand the depth of your purpose. Eleven years later—an entire pre-teen lifetime—I see it so clearly.

Growth isn’t linear. It ebbs and flows, challenging us to adapt, persevere, and embrace the messiness of change. MOTM Vaultage® has been my constant reminder that every step forward, no matter how small or unpredictable, contributes to the greater journey.

We started humbly. Just you and me, tucked away in a warm, welcoming space on Maryland Avenue. The air was always rich with the scents of essential oils, a sanctuary for deep exhales and quiet breakthroughs. I was “Mama Bear,” nurturing you with love, intention, and a vision of how you’d transform lives.

You weren’t demanding. You just existed, holding space for people to rediscover themselves, session by session. It wasn’t long before the whispers of your work began to ripple outward. People talked about you, and before we knew it, you were touching more lives than I had ever imagined.

We took bold steps together, steps others doubted.

Remember “Baltimore is Healing” during the pandemic? It wasn’t easy to convince even our team, but I believed. And just like that, the vision came to life. Or that freezing day in February when the Black History Month Monologue was born? The odds weren’t in our favor, but our purpose carried us through.

You taught me resilience. Through every obstacle—from a global pandemic to the personal trials that tested my spirit—you were a constant. When my father fell gravely ill, you gave me the strength to fight for his life, drawing on the same holistic healing principles we offer to others. We turned our home into a sanctuary, a place of miraculous recovery.

Those experiences reshaped us. In 2020, you evolved. You shed your old name, Matters of the Mind, and became M.O.T.M. Vaultage®. It was more than a name change; it was a transformation—a rebirth. You became a vault, a treasure chest of growth, healing, and possibility. With that came new responsibilities, challenges, and sacrifices, but it was worth every ounce of effort.

Growth isn’t linear.

Even after the transformation, we faced new hurdles—each one guiding us toward deeper understanding and stronger resilience. Through automation, a brilliant team, and renewed energy, MOTM Vaultage® is no longer just my vision. You are our legacy.

Through the years, you’ve taught me profound lessons. Success isn’t about time—it’s about timeless impact. Resilience isn’t a fleeting trait; it’s a foundation.

Transformation doesn’t happen overnight—it’s built through perseverance.

MOTM Vaultage®, I’m so grateful to you. Thank you for holding space for others while I learned to hold space for myself. And thank you for reminding me that meaningful work isn’t about fleeting metrics but about creating lasting transformation.

Here’s to everything we’ve created together, everything we’re building, and everything that’s yet to come. You are my child, my vision, and my legacy.

With love and gratitude,
Mama Bear (aka ClearQuartz)
